Spotlight - Easter

Who wants everlasting life?

Hollywood is filled with stories that hint at the idea of Easter. There are characters -- from vampires (Twilight saga) to salesmen (Big Fish) who all want everlasting life. There are extraterrestrials (E.T.) and warm-hearted zombies (Warm Bodies) that rise from the dead. Death is the curse we all face. What is it about immortality that calls to us? God originally made us to live forever, not to die. Despite millennia of dying, death still feels foreign to us. Jesus died and rose from the dead in order to take away the curse, reconcile us to God, and bring to us everlasting life. As we prepare to teach at Easter, here are some interesting illustrations to engage your congregation or small group.
